A verse in the Bible that I truly believe shows God’s character – His goodness – is Isaiah 40:18-21;
“Forget about what’s happened;
don’t keep going over old history.
Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new.
It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it?
There it is! I’m making a road through the desert,
rivers in the badlands.
Wild animals will say ‘Thank you!’
—the coyotes and the buzzards—
Because I provided water in the desert,
rivers through the sun-baked earth,
Drinking water for the people I chose,
the people I made especially for myself,
a people custom-made to praise me.
What I learn from these words is that God doesn’t dwell in the past. He is present, and forward-thinking – a pioneering mindset. The other thing I learn is that He provides for His people. However, His provision doesn’t only reach the people who are sold out for Him, He actually makes it available for everyone.
God is transformational. He takes what looks dead, and brings it back to life. I believe He wants us to live like that too. He wants us to take our lives and make it brand new.
This grounding gave me a vision of who I wanted to be, and who I believe God is calling His people to be, but more specifically, His daughters – WOMEN.
I penned the words below with the intention of the person described being the customer for my brand, the woman who would be buying what I made. But I quickly realised the words went deeper than that – it is what women are called to be.
